Dog Crate

Long before dogs were domesticated, they often slept in tiny caves that provided just enough room for warmth and security. Although many people object to putting their animals in these “cages”, a dog crate is very comfortable for most animals.

A dog crate should be made out of heavy-duty plastic and heavy, welded-steel wire. Although there are open wire crates, these don’t provide the same feeling of shelter as molded, two-piece plastic ones. Plus, plastic is very lightweight and easy to transport.

A dog crate should be large enough for an animal to stand up and turn around comfortably. Because of their rapid growth puppies are difficult to buy for, but there companies that make sectioned crates that can expand in relation to the size of a dog.
