Dog Collars
Dog collars hold a dog’s tags, their sole piece
of identification. If an animal runs away, its best chances of being
found rely on the tags bound by the collar around its neck. They are
also what leashes attach to.
There are many kinds of dog collars, including:
• Electronic/anti-barking
• Choke
• Head
• Nylon
• Leather
Electronic dog collars have two metal prongs that poke gently at a
dog’s throat. When the animal is barking, the sensors in the prongs
pick up on the vibration and send a small shock to the canine. Although
some think this is cruel training, it is very effective for especially
noisy pets.
